I enjoy writing in all genres– poetry was my first love, but I’ve found that all genres give me the ability to play with words and that’s what I’m really into. I’m fascinated by the human condition and how similar we all are at our core. My passion is exploring how the human condition affects us all differently. Ultimately, I write to connect and I’ve found that there’s far more that connects us than separates.

I also believe in “not wasting my pain.” I’ve gone through many trials and find it is best to open up about my struggles, which has always led to deeper connection with others. After giving birth to my daughter via an emergency cesarian conducted purposefully 4 weeks early, I found out that I have a brain tumor. Needless to say, my days since then have been marked with joy, pain, questioning, uncertainty, and more joy.

In a former life, I was a singer, but finding the time to do that now that I have two babes under the age of 3, is difficult, to say the least. I love traveling, good food, culture, and compelling storytelling – be it through music, movies, tv shows, or art.

My poetry chapbook, “Of My Cells: Poems on Infertility and Motherhood,” has recently been published and can be purchased at https://bottlecap.press/products/cells. I am currently working on my memoir. When that is finished, I will be revisiting my novel (the one I abandoned in order to focus on my memoir).
